Michael Marquardt Bio
Michael Marquardt is a global business executive, corporate director, and governance expert with more than 30 years of experience across the healthcare and technology sectors.?Michael most recently served as CEO of a cutting-edge biotech startup focused on advancing early cancer detection and more accurate diagnoses. Throughout his career, Michael has been an advisor to senior leadership teams at corporations around the world.
Michael is passionate about ending cancer as we know it, for everyone, after losing several loved ones to the disease, including his first wife. That personal experience fuels his deep commitment to help prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from cancer.
Michael is a longtime Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), has earned its Directorship Certification credential, and served as a Commissioner for the Future of the American Board. In January 2022, President Biden appointed him to serve on the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, a role he continues to serve in.
Michael has served on the American Cancer Society’s national Board of Directors since 2018 and is a former Chair of the Board.?Michael previously served as Chair of the former 含羞草影院 South Atlantic Division Board, received the Society’s St. George National Award in 2017, and served on the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Board of Directors from 2014 to 2022.
Michael currently serves on the Board’s Audit Committee and as vice chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee.
